3. Safety information
Intended use. Libra is a connected table scale for non-professional indoor use. It weighs, for example, game meat and syncs the weight to the Tendy app over Bluetooth. Any other use is outside the intended use.
Not for trade use. Libra is not intended to be used as a scale in trade where the price is determined by weight. It is therefore not a non-automatic weighing instrument for commercial use under Directive 2014/31/EU.

Batteries
Libra is powered by three AA batteries (1.5 V). Insert the batteries in the correct direction according to the markings (+ and −) in the battery compartment. Do not mix old and new batteries, and do not mix different battery types or brands. Do not attempt to charge ordinary alkaline batteries. Remove the batteries if you are not going to use the scale for a long time, to avoid leakage. Dispose of used batteries at a battery collection point, not in household waste.
Service
There are no user-serviceable parts inside other than the batteries. For service, contact [email protected].
4. Quick start
Turning the scale on and off
Turn on. Place the scale on a flat, stable surface with nothing on the weighing plate. Press ON/OFF. The display lights up and the scale performs a self-test. When it has stabilised and shows zero, it is ready to weigh.
Turn off. Hold ON/OFF for approximately 2 seconds.
Auto power-off. If the weight does not change and no button is pressed for 10 minutes, the scale turns itself off to save battery.
What the buttons do
ON/OFF. Turns on and off. Hold for more than 2 seconds to turn off manually.
TARE. Zeros the display so you can subtract the weight of a container.
UNIT. Changes the unit of measurement.
PCS. Starts the counting function.
5. Installing the batteries
Always make sure the scale is turned off before inserting or replacing batteries.
Turn the scale upside down and open the battery compartment on the underside. It is important that you do not have any load or weight on the plate when inserting new batteries and turning on the scale.
Insert three AA batteries (1.5 V) in the direction shown by the markings in the compartment (+ and −).
Close the cover until it clicks into place.
Turn the scale back over, place it on a flat surface and press ON/OFF.
Replace batteries in time
When the display shows "LO", the batteries are nearly empty. Replace all three at the same time with new batteries of the same type.
6. Weighing, taring and changing units
Weighing
Place the scale on a flat, stable surface.
Turn it on and wait until it shows zero.
Place what you want to weigh in the centre of the plate. The weight is displayed when the numbers are stable.
Libra weighs up to 30 kg. The accuracy is approximately 1 g between 0 and 15 kg, and approximately 5 g between 15 and 30 kg. For Libra to register a weight correctly, the minimum weight must be at least 25 g.
Taring (zeroing)
When weighing loose items in a container, you can subtract the container's weight. Place the empty container on the plate, press TARE briefly so the display shows zero, then place the items inside. The scale will then show only the weight of the items.
Changing units
Press UNIT to cycle between five units: grams (g) to kilograms (kg) to pounds (lb) to ounces (oz) to millilitres (ml).
7. Counting function (PCS)
The PCS function counts the number of items based on the weight of a known quantity. It is useful when you want to count many small, identical items.
Press PCS to select the counting function.
Hold PCS for 3 seconds to enter sampling mode. The display shows "25" and blinks.
Press PCS again to choose how many items you want to sample: 25, 50, 75 or 100.
Place the selected number of items on the plate.
The scale exits sampling mode and starts counting.
Two ways to end sampling.
Either automatically 10 seconds after you place the items, at which point the value is saved. Or by pressing ON/OFF to exit immediately, at which point the value is also saved.
If sampling fails. If the items are too light for the scale to distinguish between them, "Err4" is displayed and no value is saved. After a successful sampling, the value is stored until you perform a new one.
8. Calibration
Libra is calibrated at the factory and you normally do not need to recalibrate it. If weighing becomes inaccurate, you can recalibrate the scale using calibration weights. You will need weights of 10 kg and 20 kg.
Turn on the scale. Press UNIT three times in a row. Keep your finger on the third press until the scale enters calibration mode. The current calibration interval is displayed.
Select the 30 kg / 1 g interval using UNIT if it is not already selected. Confirm with ON/OFF. The internal code value is displayed.
Press ON/OFF again until the display shows "CAL0".
Place the first calibration weight (10 kg). When the value is stable, it is registered.
Place the second calibration weight (20 kg). When the value is stable and calibration succeeds, the scale returns to normal weighing mode. If calibration fails, "Err" is displayed.
Tip. Calibrate on a stable, flat surface and do not move the table during the process.
9. Connect to the Tendy app
The Tendy app pairs with Libra over Bluetooth. Once paired, the weight you measure is synced directly to the app.
Download the app
Search for Tendy on Google Play or the App Store, or scan the QR codes below:
Getting started
Open the Tendy app and log in with email, Google or Apple.
Turn ON Bluetooth on your phone.
When the app asks, grant Bluetooth permission to Tendy.
Turn on Libra (press ON/OFF) and tap Pair device in the app.
10. Cleaning and maintenance
Routine cleaning
Turn off and remove the batteries from the scale before cleaning.
Lift off the stainless steel weighing plate and wipe it with a damp cloth. Dry it afterwards.
Wipe the scale housing with a dry or slightly damp, soft cloth.
Do not submerge the scale in water or rinse it under a tap. It is not waterproof.
What to avoid
Solvents, acetone, bleach and abrasive cleaning agents
Submerging the scale in water
Overloading the scale with more than 30 kg
Storage in damp conditions or in direct sunlight for extended periods
Long-term storage
If you are not going to use Libra for a long time, remove the batteries and store the scale in a dry, cool place. This prevents the batteries from leaking and damaging the scale.
11. Troubleshooting
Having trouble with your Tendy Libra? Start with the error codes below.
Display | What it means and what to do |
O-Ld | Overload. The weight exceeds 30 kg. Remove or reduce the weight immediately to avoid permanent damage to the scale. |
LO | Low battery level. Replace all AA batteries with new ones. |
Err4 | Sampling in counting mode (PCS) failed, usually because the objects are too light. Try using more or heavier objects. |
Err | Calibration failed. Repeat the calibration using the correct standard weights on a stable surface. |
Other common questions
The scale does not show zero. Place it on a flat surface with nothing on the plate and press TARE.
Unstable or jumping values. Avoid draughts, vibrations and uneven surfaces.
The scale is not found in the app. Check that Bluetooth is on, that the scale is turned on and that you have granted the app Bluetooth permission.

15. Waste disposal: WEEE and battery
Electronic waste. The symbols on the product, its accessories or packaging indicate that the device must not be handled as unsorted household waste, but must be collected separately. Hand in the device at a collection point for recycling of electrical and electronic waste (WEEE) if you live within the EU or in other European countries that have separate collection systems for such waste. By disposing of the device correctly, you help prevent possible risks to the environment and human health that could otherwise arise from improper waste handling. Recycling materials helps preserve natural resources.
Recycle the packaging separately in accordance with local regulations. Sort cardboard with paper, plastic film with plastic and any metal parts separately.
In France, the Triman logo and the Info-Tri sorting guide apply to the packaging.
